BFA Portfolio: Week 6

I had decided that it was time to change my concept of painting. Adding to the canvas -- or extending it -- seemed like an optimal idea. I actually liked the way it turned out because it's definitely different from my normal pieces. I felt that this particular week wasn't filled with much progress, but when seeing everything together and how vastly different it is from past weeks, I felt a little better. I tried my hand at stitching, but it didn't work out as planned. I've come to realize that I'm the opposite of patient and stitching requires that and then some. I played around a little more with the air dry porcelain because I've only ever dried them on baking paper. To remove that, I hung the clay around yarn and they dried more like bone. You could even see some of the yarn through the porcelain.

As time has passed, I've learned what it means to be in pain, as well as being relieved of it.      When I was in the darkest part of my life, pain was something I felt I deserved. I had been forced into thinking that everything was my fault. I thought that he was demonstrating how much he cared whenever he put his hands on me. I didn't see it as a bad thing at the time -- just normal. Touch, at this time, was sharp; violent and difficult for me to wrap my head arou
